From President Johnson’s white house tapes, the artist catalogued and transcribed every conversations in which both President Johnson and his wife Lady Bird Johnson are on the line, ranging in dates from 1963 to 1966. Archival recordings of the conversations transcribed are converted to 5-channel surround sound audio and placed in the space.
Each transcript is annotated with public events that took place on the day of the conversation transcribed. The transcripts are displayed chronologically along the wall, ending in a pile by the window sill.
